Men’s Emergency Shelter

The men’s emergency shelter provides 28 beds for men in 2 dormitory-style rooms. The space includes a library/TV room with movies, books, board games, and 2 computer work stations.

Services at the shelter include communal meals, showers, laundry, mail services, clothing, hygiene kits, and other supplies.

Case management, social security and other benefits support, and counseling are also available. 

By supporting our mission you assist our clients find employment, obtain healthcare, seek counseling, enroll in treatment programs and move into housing – our ultimate goal.  Last year, 52 percent of the men, women and children in our five residential programs successfully did so.  It’s a tribute to the hard work and efforts of our clients and their case managers.

WINTER WISH LIST

  • Clothing – Hats, gloves, boots, shoes, socks, men’s jackets, sweaters, hooded sweatshirts, long underwear, and winter outerwear.
  • Personal Hygiene – Disposable razors, shampoo, deodorant, chapstick.
  • Other – Sleeping bags, sleeping pads or mats, blankets, hand warmers, disposable blankets.
  • Food – Milk, juice, fresh fruits, bottled water, cheese, ground beef, ham, roasts, and sliced lunch meats.
  • Non-food items – Non-alcoholic cough syrup, Thera-flu, multivitamins, Emergen-C® packets, cough drops, Vitamin C, lip balm, band-aids, Alka-Seltzer cold®, Pepto-Bismol®, hand sanitizer, hand wipes, tissues, Lysol spray, foot powder.
  • Volunteers – Handyman/woman for repairs, front-desk receptionists for 4- to 8-hour blocks of time once a week, cooks for dinners any night.

SUMMER WISH LIST

  • Clothing: Hats, rain ponchos, men’s jackets, socks, underwear, backpacks.
  • Personal Hygiene: Shaving cream, disposable razors, toothbrushes, toothpaste, hotel-size shampoo, deodorant, sun screen.
  • Food:  Shelf-stable single serving beverages, milk, juice, eggs, fresh fruits, bottled water, coffee.
  • Other:  Blankets, bus passes.
  • Volunteers:  Cooks for dinner.
